Another chapter in the deep rivalry between Pope John Senior High School and Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) will be written on Thursday, November 30.
The two giants meet to determine which team wins the boys division of the Eastern Regional qualifiers for the Sprite Ball Championship.
Sprite Ball is the biggest high school basketball competition in Ghana and qualifiers for the tournament have been commenced.
Pope John and KSTS represented Ghana’s Eastern Region at the last edition which was won by Opoku Ware School and Wesley Girls High School in the female division.
Both teams will return to the national games by making the finals due to be played tomorrow with the regional championship at stake.
KSTS beat St. Paul’s Senior High 31-16 while Pope John piped St. Peter’s Senior High School 14-13 in the semifinals.
After failing to win a game at the last national competition, KSTS is primed for a big showing at the upcoming edition.
Pope John’s placed fourth at the last edition. Sprite Ball will be played in January 2018.
