The 2017-2018 season of the Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League is set to commence on Saturday, November 25.
Per reports reaching Basketballghana.com, the Sunyani-based league’s upcoming season tips off this weekend at the Eusbett Court.
This comes as great news to followers of the league since the start of the new season has been postponed several times.
Following the successful end to the 2016-2017 season early this year, plans for a smooth transition to the new campaign were scarpered several team’s failure to meet organizer’s requirements.
Word coming in from Ghana’s Brong Ahafo Region capital indicates six teams have registered to compete in the league this season.
However, special plans have been made to add teams that meet league requirements to the original roster without altering the campaign.
Barracks Scorpions, Catholic University College Ghana (CUCG Saints), Suncity Braves, LIR, Dessert Rabbits and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) are set to compete on Saturday.
UENR beat Braves to win last season’s title on the final day with Point Guard Robert Fiifi Brew winning the Most Valuable Player Award.
