Ghana representative at the just ended FIBA Africa Zone 3 Club Championship Braves of Customs have missed out on progressing from the zone.
The team placed fourth in the competition which ended on Saturday November 18 at the National Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria.
Braves fell 46-66 in its final game to Kano Pillars who have successfully defended its 2016 title by clinching this year’s edition.
The loss means Customs have missed out on securing one of two spots needed to participate in the main championship later this year.
Pillars and fellow Nigerian side Gombe Bulls booked their places in the continental games by placing the top places in the West African Tournament.
Braves ended the competition with two wins against Civil Defence and Aspac of Benin but lost to Nigerian sides Mark Mentors, Bulls and Pillars.
The team is expected in Ghana later today alongside its female side who featured in friendly ties against Zenith League side Dolphins.
Pillars ended the competition without suffering a loss.
