Akatsi Rifles have clinched a 12 point win in its final game of the 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II.
The team beat Dunk Knights 72-60 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu to end its maiden run in the league on a high note.
Beating Knights gives Rifles five wins in 12 games for the campaign; the team missed out on striking an even record for the season.
Had Akatsi registered a better start to the campaign, the team would have likely ended the season with a winning record.
The lost five straight games when this year’s campaign commenced in September before an improved form had them winning.
Knights were not as fortunate as the young lads from the program couldn’t add to a couple of wins in the division.
Junior Rangers failed to show up for its tie against Novas Academy in the opening game of the round at 17:00 GMT.
Rangers were one of three contenders for a spot in next year’s Division I campaign but missed it following a loss to Navy Warriors.
