Three games were honored at the 2017 FIBA Africa Zone 3 Club Championship qualifiers at the National Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria.

The trio of games involved reigning champions Kano Pillars and Ghana’s only representative at the games, Braves of Customs.

Pillars opened the round with an 81-63 win over Aspac of Benin who is yet to win a game in the tournament. The tie tipped off at 14:00 GMT and the win gives Pillars its third straight win in the competition; the Nigerian side is primed for a return to the main continental championship later this year.

Braves was set to feature in the second game of the round at 16:00 GMT against Civil Defence but the fixture was not honored as Defence failed to show up for the game.

That means Customs bag maximum points and the win ahead of crucial ties against Mark Mentors and Kano Pillars. The final game between Gombe Bulls and Mentors was won by Gombe courtesy a 75-67 result.
