Akatsi Rifles will be in action tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in an Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II tie against Dunk Knights.
The game is the final outing for both teams in this year’s campaign after featuring in 11 games previously; the opening game on the night which tips off at 17:00 GMT is between Junior Rangers and Novas Academy with either team set for its last league appearance in 2017.
Rifles head into the fixture seeking a win to clinch its fifth win of the season and possibly move up the standings from tenth place in the team’s debut campaign in the league.
After featuring in the Tema Basketball League for two straight seasons, the Akatsi side made its maiden appearance in the second tier of the Accra League.
The team received an award from Tema’s League Board for its dedication and commitment over the weekend ahead of its final encounter in Accra.
Rifles started the season poorly with consistent losses in the opening rounds but managed to pick up the pieces and string a couple of wins.
