Junior Rangers have forfeited its final game of the 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II season earlier tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
The team missed out narrowly on securing a a place among the top three spots in the division to qualify for Division next season. Rangers 46-59 loss to Navy Warriors condemned the side to another season in Division II in the last round of games.
Rangers were scheduled to play against Novas Academy in the opening tie tonight at 17:00 GMT but failed to show up at the venue.
After a lenghty wait to no no avail, officials declared the game over handing the win and maximum points to Novas who end the season with six wins in 12 games.
Rangers end the campaign with seven wins in 12 games and likely to maintain fifth place in the standings despite not showing up tonight.
The final game on the schedule did go on as planned between Akatsi Rifles and Dunk Knights; Akatsi won the tie 72-60 in both team’s final outing this season.
Knights end the season with two wins in 12 games while Rifles end with five wins in 12 games.
