For the second straight year, the Tema Basketball League Finals Series was concluded in two games with this year’s series ending in a 2-0 win for Tema Community 4.
Community 4 beat Ashaiman Lions 47-38 to complete a 2-0 win and lay hands on the giant trophy for the first time in the competition’s history.
The home side beat Ashaiman 58-54 in Game One to commence a surprising winning effort over heavy favorites Lions who dropped last season’s Champions Nungua Coldstore en route to this year’s final.
This year’s campaign panned out in a similar way as last year’s which Coldstore beat Ashaiman in two straight games to win the maiden league campaign.
Just like the previous campaign, the Most Valuable Player Award winner was drafted from the winning side as C4 Point Guard Aninagyei Osei walked away with the top individual prize.
The addition of teams in this year’s competition had two rounds in the postseason added; first round knockout games and Group Final games were included to this season’s campaign.
Last season’s roster had seven teams in the division compared to 14 that featured in the just ended division which had the likes of Ghana Police and Ghana Navy feature for the first time.
