2017 Kwese Nigerian Premier Basketball League Winners Kano Pillars have been given a major boost ahead of the team’s participation in the FIBA Africa Club Champions Cup Zone 3 qualifiers.
The competition tips off on Saturday November 11 in Lagos, Nigeria and is expected to run to November 18 with teams representing eight countries in the zone expected to make appearances.
Ahead of the Championship, host nation Nigeria’s league winner Kano Pillars have been rewarded by Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
The State Governor delivered plots of land and cash to the tune of $1,966 for winning the country’s popular league.
Players received 500,000 Naira or $1404 for their title winning efforts over Gombe Bulls this past season right before Pillars take on the team’s latest continental challenge.
Aside Pillars and Bulls, the host nation will be represented by Mark Mentors, Civil Defence and Rivers Hoopers in the competition.
Pillars are the defending champions after winning last season’s event en route to placing fourth in the African Championship.
Ghana is represented by Braves of Customs.
