The 2017 Ashanti Region Male Basketball Final for the Sprite Ball Championship will be decided this morning at 11:00 GMT between fierce rivals Opoku Ware School and Prempeh College.

Both teams meet again after Friday’s titanic encounter ended 16-16 but the overtime period was cancelled due to poor visibility at the venue.

Reigning regional and national champions Opoku Ware are hosting this year’s event and seek to tip its national title defense by retaining the region’s title.

However, that feat could have been achieved in the first game on Friday had Point Guard Emmanuel “Ghost” Agyapong converted a free throw.

With the game over and tied at 16, Agyapong was on the line after getting fouled on a drive in the final seconds of the game.

However, he missed the final shot to leave both teams tied on the same points and the winner to be decided after overtime.

Both teams have sealed spots at the upcoming national games with third place winners T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School.
