Ghana Police is feverishly preparing for the Tema Basketball League playoffs by making a big statement with its latest win in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II.
The team brushed aside CYO with 73-57 win to claim its fifth straight win of the season; CYO had won all five games played in the campaign before falling to Police.
Police is set to take on Ashaiman Lions in the Tema postseason on Sunday October 1 at Tema’s Community 4 Court in the first round of the playoffs.
Lions topped Police in the final regular season game to clinch second spot in Group A ahead of Police and both teams will battle for a spot in the Group’s Finals Series.
After handling the impressive CYO side with ease, Police are revving to have a go at last year’s Tema League Finalist. Lions lost two straight games in the best of three series to Nungua Coldstore in the 2016 Finals.
Defending champions Coldstore play Junior Reformers in the other Group A game with Tema Heat squaring up against Tema Community 2 and Community 4 will be up against Ghana Navy.
