Ghana Forward Ben Bentil has clinched his and new team Champagne Chalons Reims, first win of the 2017-2018 season in the French Pro A.
The win came via an 86-78 result over Antibes Sharks in league games played in the second round of the campaign which tipped off on Friday September 22.
Playing in front of home fans at the Palais Des Sports Pierre de Courbetin with Martin Hermannson leading the way for Reims by registering 15 points and five assists.
After losing the opening tie 61-86 to Dijon, Reims needed a response in its second appearance of the season to get avoid playing catch up to the rest of the field early on this season.
However, the game turned out to be one of Bentil’s poorest since turning professional in 2016 as the 6 foot 9 inch Combo Forward registered eight points and an assist in 28 minutes.
His shooting statistics didn’t help matters as he converted just three of 16 attempts in the game; against Dijon, Bentil paced Reims scoring output with 12 points.
Bentil was signed ahead of the season after featuring in the NBA for Dallas Mavericks.
