French League Pro A side Champagne Chalons Reims Forward Ben Bentil has delivered a low key performance in the team’s maiden win in the 2017-2018 season.
The Ghanaian registered eight points and an assist in 28 minutes as Reims beat Antibes Sharks 86-78 at home for its first win of the season following a 61-86 loss to Dijon in the opening tie.
Renowned for his ability to convert three point shots, Bentil’s vaunted weapon went missing in the crucial win for his side as he converted just three of 16 shots.
He attempted nine two points attempts converting two and converting just one of seven attempts from the three point zone to sum up a bad shooting night for the former NBA draftee.
This off night comes on the back of a 12 point showing in the 25 point loss to Dijon which paced Reims’ scoring output; Iceland international Martin Hermannsson picked up the slack with Captain Willie Deane to lead Reims to the win.
The team’s next assignment is against Strasbourg; Reims win puts them ninth in the standings.
