This year’s Tema Basketball League postseason games will commence on rescheduled date Sunday October 1 following postponement of games on the original date.
Fixtures in the first round of the playoffs were due to be honored at Tema’s Community 4 Court on Sunday September 24 but got cancelled due to rain that hit Ghana’s Harbor City.
As a result, league officials have confirmed the new date to serve as the start time for the anticipated knockout games which will be played in a best of three series.
Showers have hindered a lot of progress on the Ghanaian basketball scene since most of the country’s courts are open air and at the mercy of the weather.
Games in similar leagues around the country have been doing same to prevent injuring players due to the dangerous nature of the surface in such damp conditions.
Group A games between defending Champions Nungua Coldstore and fourth seed Junior Rangers and second seed Ashaiman Lions and Ghana Police open the round before ties in Group B play out.
Leaders Tema Community 4 is up against Ghana Navy and Tema Community 2 is up against Tema Heat on Sunday.
