Ghana and new Champagne Chalons-Reims Forward recruit Ben Bentil is set to feature in the french Pro League A for the first time since signing for the team.
Reims plays away from home to Dijon in the opening round of games of the 2017-2018 season with the team’s start attraction widely expected to be play a key role.
Bentil joined new Coach Cedric Heitz in a busy offseason for Reims; Heitz was named Pro B Coach of the Year last season and Bentil joins the team with an NBA profile that includes a stint with Dallas Mavericks.
Reims placed 16th in the 18 team standings in 2016-2017 and has plans of avoiding another low rank campaign that could see the team slip to the minor division.
Dijon placed 13th in the division failing to qualify to the postseason in a year Elan Chalon claimed its second French title.
The 6 foot 8 inch Bentil played in this year’s NBA Summer League for San Antonio Spurs folloowing his stint in the preseason competition in 2016 with Boston Celtics.
