Senior High Schools will be added to this year’s Peace Bounce Basketball Tournament due to be held in Ghana’s Eastern Region capital, Koforidua on September 30.
The noteworthy competition which aims to promote peace among Ghanaian youth will be hosting contingents from several schools in and around the region.
Per reports coming in, Pope John Senior High School, Okuapeman Senior High School, Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) and Suhum Senior High School are a few schools tabbed to compete in the tournament.
In the 2016 edition, only tertiary institution teams and community based teams made up the roster which included colleges like Valley View University, Koforidua Technical University and All Nations University College participating.
Rough Court, a community team walked away with the top prize after placing first in the event; the roster is set to increase with the addition of senior high schools.
Pope John and KSTS are renowned in the country for their exploits in Ghana’s biggest juvenile tournament Sprite Ball with both teams winning bronze medals in prior seasons.
Youth Organization, National Youth Basketball Conference is organizing the competition.
