Ghana Forward Ben Bentil is blending in with French team Champagne Chalons Reims ahead of the French Pro A season after signing a one year deal recently.
The former Providence College star joined the team after featuring for San Antonio Spurs in this year’s NBA Summer League.
Last season’s 16th placed team in the French league has been active in the offseason recruiting top talent ahead of the season where it aims to avoid a relegation fight like it has been in a couple of seasons.
Aside Bentil, Reims have signed last season’s Pro B Coach of the Year Cedric Heinz on a two year deal hoping the trainer pushes the team further up the 20 team standings.
Reims open the season against Dijon later this month and is expected to end regular season games on June next year.
Bentil has had a colorful career since turning pro a few years ago with stints in China for Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers, Boston Celtics and Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA’s lower division-the Gatorade League.
