Ghana and former Boston Celtics Forward Ben Bentil has starred for new French side Champagne Chalons- Reims in his first game since signing for the French side recently.
The 6 foot 8 inch Forward registered 19 points and five rebounds in a preseason game against Belfius Mons-Hainaut.
Reims lost the game 58-74 but the Providence College alum paced the game in scoring in the losing effort ahead of the start of the French league.
He registered the decent stat in 30 minutes for the team he signed for after playing for San Antonio Spurs in the NBA’s Summer League.
This comes after Bentil scored 13 points in Reims 67-81 loss to Gravelins-Dunkerque in a previous tie as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
Reims opens the 2017-2018 season against Dijon on September 2o in the opening game of the new season.
Bentil’s scoring touch earned him Big East Conference Most Improved Player and top scorer in his second and final season at Providence.
He is the first Ghana born player to play in the NBA and will suit up against 2014 NBA Champion Boris Diaw in teh French League.
