A dozen distinguished players have made the cut to play in Ghana’s National Wheelchair Basketball Team African qualifiers later this year.
The team is expected to compete in African qualifiers for next year’s World Cup due to be held in Spain; the qualifiers take place in Durban, South Africa from November 17-26.
National Team Captain Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe headlines the 12 man pick by Coach Elvis Alupui and his technical team following the closure of Ghana’s National Sports Festival recently in Kumasi.
Three members of gold medalist Brong-Ahafo Region have made the team including Nkegbe; the team beat Greater Accra region 27-25 in the final game with Ashanti Region claiming bronze in the competition.
Accra also had three players make the list including Timothy Hayford while the likes of Ashanti and Eastern Region had a representative each respectively.
