Coldstore (white) beat Police in the first matchup.

Police.
After placing second in this year’s Basketball Festival in Cape-Coast and beating Novas Academy 62-38 in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II, Ghana Police came up short of ending on a high note after falling to Nungua Coldstore in the Tema Basketball League.

The game which took place at Tema’s Community 4 Court had Police fall 39-47 to the defending league champions in the biggest tie of the round.

Despite an improved performance from the first tie, Police could not get past Nungua for the second time this season; Coldstore won the first matchup 53-23.

In a very entertaining game that turned violent,Police’ shooting woes affected the team’s chances to hurt Nungua’s zonal defense.

With guys like Simon Aphour and Kwame Boamah Djan manning the paint, Police’ inability to hit shots from deep limited its chances of clinching a win to even the series.

Police will be inaction in the ABL on Wednesday September 13 against Junior Rangers and in Tema on Sunday September 17 against Ashaiman Lions.
