Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation Media Coordinator Sandy Asiedu has emphatically stated the National Sports Festival’s errors could have been easily avoided.
He made the statement in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Paa Joe Stadium where the final games of the Wheelchair basketball competition took place.
Recounting several poorly managed instances, the veteran basketball pundit expressed his disappointment with the multi sport competition’s overall turn out and called out Deputy Technical Director of Ghana’s National Sports Authority Saka Acquaye.
“The organization wasn’t poor but too many inexcusable lapses on the part of the NSA…Mr Saka has too many questions to answer because its obvious things could have been better if this whole knee jerk sports festival was planned with a bit more patience” he said.
Brong-Ahafo Region came out tops beating Greater Accra Region 27-25 in the final game with host region Ashanti placing third on the podium ahead of Northern Region.
This is the first time since 2011 the event formerly known as the National Unity Games has taken place; several complaints have been made by officials in other disciplines.
