The Wheelchair Basketball Competition taking place at Ghana’s National Sports Festival is due to conclude later today in Kumasi.
Final games of the event between Ashanti Region and Norther Region and Greater Accra Region and Brong-Ahafo Region will be played at the Kwmae Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Main Court to determine the final spots for the quartet.
Home team Ashanti takes on opponents from the North in the early game in the third place game before Greater Accra plays Brong-Ahafo in the gold medal game later.
The competition has been running since the multi sport event began this past weekend in Ghana’s Ashanti Region capital where over 200 athletes have gathered to compete in ten disciplines including track and field events and handball.
Outstanding athletes will be selected to Ghana’s National; Wheelchair Basketball Team ahead of African World Cup qualifiers which is due to take place in Durban, South Africa.
Head Coach Elvis Alupui has been in Kumasi to oversee proceedings; officials including Media Coodinator Sandy Asiedu has been on hand during the competition.
