Teshie Rangers and Tema Community 4 have clinched wins over Community 12 and Ghana Navy in the Tema Basketball League latest round of games.
Rangers beat Community 12 32-29 in the opening game of the round which tipped off at 17:30 GMT before homeside C4 topped Navy courtesy a 40-34 win.
The round was set to have two more games but players from Ashaiman Lions, Ghana Police and Junior Reformers of Prisons were out of the region competing in this year’s Basketball Festival in Cape-Coast.
As a result, games in Group a had to be cancelled to allow players compete in the annual tournament which is sponsored by Promasidor Ghana Limited.
Last year finalist Lions was scheduled to play against Police in a highly anticipated game while Reformers had Community 5 to play in the round.
This means only games in Group B were honored at Tema Community 4’s Court which had Rangers and the home team grab vital wins as both clubs continue their push for playoff spots.
C4’s win puts them two points clear off Navy.
