Greater Accra Region will take on Brong-Ahafo Region in the final game of the National Sports Festival Wheelchair Basketball competition final.
Ghana’s multi sport event is taking place in the Ashanti Region capital Kumasi where over 2000 athletes are competing for honors in ten disciplines.
In the Wheelchair hoops event, the country’s capital region has been in fine form leading to the final game due to be played on Wednesday September 6 at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s court.
Brong Ahafo has surprised many with impressive displays in the tournament including a shock win over the home region’s team in the opening rounds.
Ashanti Region will be in action against Northern Region in the third place match earlier in the day as both teams strive for a spot on the podium.
Outstanding athletes in the competition will be selected to the Ghana’s National Team ahead of African World Cup qualifiers to be held from November 17 to November 26 in Durban, South Africa.
Next year’s World Cup will be held in Spain; National Team Coach Elvis Alupui is in Kumasi to monitor players.
