The University of Ghana (UG) has missed out on a top four place in the 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division regular season.
The tertiary side misses out after placing fifth in the five team standings following the closure of the first part of this year’s campaign.
As such, the team misses out on a spot in the post season where clubs ranked them in the division will compete for the league title later this year.
UG finished the season with just three wins from 16 games played; the team’s point tally stands at 17 which is six points behind closest rival Fire Service in fourth place.
Ghana’s premier university planned to compete in the elite division last year but administrative issues prevented the side from doing so.
However, the opportunity to play did not translate into a winning season as the team was on the receiving end of big losses to more established experienced teams .
The top four spots are occupied by defending league champions Braves of Customs, Ghana Navy, Tudu Galaxy and Fire Service.
