The Cape-Coast Basketball League has been launched at the University of Cape-Coast (UCC) with six teams participating on the first day of competition in Ghana’s Central Region capital, Cape-Coast.
The league, which is being run in conjunction with organizing body Trinity Basketball and UCC Sports Directorate, has eight teams registered for the tournament.
The league is the latest in the West African country following the activation of similar regional based leagues including the Global Sporting Projects (GSP) League in Ghana’s Brong-Ahafo regional capital, Sunyani.
Some teams are Hall-based on the tertiary institution’s campus including Atlantic Hall, Valoc Hall and Nkrumah Hall.
Other competing teams include Hoops Care Club, Cape-Coast Technical University and Miners Basketball Club.
However, six of the eight made it to the court to compete with Hoops Care Club topping UCC’s Atlantic Hall 26-19.
