An exhibition game between Ghana Navy and Ghana Fire Service at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu has been affected by intermittent rain that led to the game’s eventual cancellation.
The quasi-friendly game was arranged to be the first to be played in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I with a 24 second shot clock.
The shot clock will be introduced to the division when the second round tips off on Friday May 19 and seminar was held recently to brief players and coaches and referees about some regulations when applying it.
As a result, the matchup afforded stakeholders a practical situation to draw examples from and make the necessary adjustments.
However, with Navy leading 30-16 in the second quarter, the game had to be abandoned due to rain drops that affected the court’s surface.
Navy will be in action in the second round’s opening tie against defending champions Braves of Customs at 18:00 GMT.
Tema Youth will be in action against DC Dynamics in the second game of the round.
