2016 Referee of the Year Gasu Quarmyne missed the seminar.

Only two referees from the Accra Basketball League (ABL) were present at a technical seminar held yesterday at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

The seminar was held to brief stakeholders on the fine details on the use of the shot clock which will be introduced in the second round of the League’s Men’s Division I.

The absence of a huge chunk of referees at the event is shocking considering the key role they play in managing the clock and other ancillary matters.

The officials are part of an invited list that includes coaches, players and team representatives who are expected to attend the event.

However, while several team representatives were present just as Ghana Basketball Association Vice Chairman Iddrisu Gamel and Assistant Chairman of the Accra Basketball League Kofi Amanyo, only two referees including Sylvester Essilfie were present.

The seminar continues later today at the Lebanon House with more practical illustrations of what was discussed in the first session on Friday May 12.
