Fire Service’ uptick in form in the Women’s Division of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) has sparked the team’s fast rise in the standings. The team is ranked second two points behind leaders Tudu Galaxy who have 12 points for the season.
Fire Service has been on a good run in recent games and the wins have catapulted the team to the league’s upper echelons. Fire beat Ghana Navy 53-51 to claim a second win for the second straight week following a 42-31 win over University of Ghana (UG).
Defending champions Braves of Customs falls to third place after its matchup against UG right following the Navy-Fire game, got postponed.
Navy’s fumbling ways in the past two outings has cost the side big time as it slides down to fourth; the side had been threatening to finish the season ahead of main title rivals Braves and Galaxy.
