Fire Service has improved its record for the ongoing season in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division to two wins in six games following a 42-31 win over University of Ghana (UG).
The win puts Fire in line to move up from the bottom spot in the standings thanks to the 11 point difference over the tertiary side.
However, the win has had far reaching consequences on the team’s outlook since the team won just one game last season.
The win means Fire has doubled its winning share and is in line to further improve it since games in the division are set to conclude on May 18.
Fire recorded its first win of the 2017 season with a 36-32 win over UG.
Tudu Galaxy leads the standings with its fifth win in seven games coming off an exciting 28-19 win over Ghana Navy; the team is on track to claim the title from defending champions Braves of Customs.
