Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate 2016 Global Sporting Projects (GSP) Basketball League Champions Suncity Braves are on the brink of exiting the league following disagreements with the league board.
Braves lost out on the 2016-2017 Championship to University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) after losing 25-26 to the tertiary side.
However, the club’s officials stated their displeasure over management’s decision to fully punish UNER forfeiting the opening game of the season between the two sides.
UENR walked away with a point from that instance which Braves didn’t protest only for them to do so after losing on the final day.
Due to what the team deems as unfair treatment, it threatened to walk away from the league and even tried to disrupt proceedings at the closing ceremony.
Braves won last season’s championship without suffering a loss but fared much worse this season as the team lost two games in the just ended campaign.
Reports gathered by Ghana’s leading hoops portal point to the league adding two more teams to the roster for nest season.
