After winning the ultimate in the Global Sporting Projects (GSP) Basketball League over the weekend thanks to a 26-25 win over then defending champions Suncity Braves, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has been a ton of first places in the just ended season.
Aside winning the title, the team backed its dominant campaign by clinching top spots in several categories.
UENR won the beat scoring team in the league after pouring in 444 points while conceding the least number of points (265) to earn the best defensive title. Point Guard Robert “Kube” Brew was named Most Valuable Player of the season.
On the other hand, bottom ranked Barracks Scorpions had the ignominy of finishing the campaign as the worst defensive team (-165).
Desert Rabbits was named Most Promising Team of the season after finishing third; a year earlier, the team was just a position above the last spot in the standings.
