Tudu Galaxy still leads the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division despite suffering a 29-31 loss to University of Ghana (UG) in the last round of games played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
The loss which was Galaxy’s second of the season, did little to strip the side off the league’s top position.
The side has accumulated 10 points with four wins in six games played this season leading second placed Braves of Customs by a point. Braves, the defending champions, have won three of six games in what has turned out to be a disappointing campaign thus far.
The surprise package for the season, Ghana Navy, sits in third in the standings with seven points but has played two games fewer than the top two sides in the division. Navy has lost just a game in four fixtures.
Thanks to the surprise win over Galaxy, UG moves from the bottom spot to fourth with seven points. Fire Service’ 32-42 loss to Braves knocked the side down to the last spot in the standings.
