The first round of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I has come to an end following the completion of games in the latest round of fixtures in the league.
Games in the division resume on 17th May at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu with a lot to play for from the seven team roster.
The last round of games had league leaders Tema Youth beat DC Dynamics 59-46 and Braves of Customs beat Ghana Navy 72-48.
The loss means Navy conclude the first phase of the 2017 season without a win and languishing at the bottom of the division; the side will have to win games fast in the next round to stave off relegation.
The first round had a lot of compelling games with the classic duel between heavyweights Tema and Braves topping the list. Tema won 84-78 in overtime which brought to an end Braves winning run that dates back multiple seasons.
On the down side, the round opened with the loss of stalwarts Matthias Ocloo and Benjamin Baafi who passed on prior to the start of the campaign.
