Two thrilling Eastern Conference Game 5s were played last night where the Boston Celtics defeated the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards took down the Atlanta Hawks. Both the Celtics and Wizards are now 3-2 up in their series and a win away from advancing to the second round of the playoffs.
Celtics a win away from second round
The Boston Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls 108-97. Isaiah Thomas had 24 points, five rebounds and four assists, Avery Bradley 24 points and six assists, and Al Horford 21 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.
Dwyane Wade had a 26-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Bulls, Jimmy Butler 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists, and Robin Lopez chipped in 14 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Wizards take 3-2 lead
The Washington Wizards defeated the Atlanta Hawks in the closest game of their first-round series 103-99. Bradley Beal had 27 points and five rebounds, John Wall a 20-point, 14-assist double-double, and Otto Porter Jr finished with 17 points and five rebounds.
The Hawks were led by Gambian-German guard Dennis Schroder with a 29-point, 11-assist double-double, Paul Millsap had a 21-point, 11-rebound double-double, and Tim Hardaway Jr ended the game with 15 points.
