The first Ghana-born player to play in the NBA, Ben Bentil, has touched down in Ghana per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com.

Since touching base in the West African nation, Bentil is set to move out of the capital Accra to his hometown Sekondi located in the country’s Western Region. He will be engaged in camps and training sessions with young players in the city.

This is Bentil’s maiden trip to Ghana since he began his professional career by declaring for the 2016 NBA Draft eventually getting snapped up 51st in the draft by Boston Celtics.

He however made his debut during his 10 day stay with Dallas Mavericks after failing to make the roster for Boston.

By getting drafted by the Celtics, the 65 foot 8 inch Forward made history by becoming the first player from Ghana to be drafted into the league.

Following his successful two year stay at Providence College, he has made a two month stop in China and currently plays for Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA’s Development League.
