Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints 15-26 loss to University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) coupled with Suncity Braves 17-15 win over West Siders means Braves are close to a second straight GSP Basketball League title.
The Global Sporting Projects (GSP) Basketball League penultimate games which took place at the Eusbett Hotel in Sunyani had Braves win the 2016-2017 edition in the opening tie of the round thanks to a close win over a tough opponent.
However, Saints loss to UENR confirmed Suncity as Champions as a two point lead and a superior goal difference means should Braves lose its final game of the season and CUCG win, it won’t matter at all as to who gets the nod between the two.
However, should UENR win its remaining games (2) in the league including the final day matchup against Braves, the tertiary side will win the championship.
Barracks Scorpions bad run in the second round of the season continued as the side lost 24-25 to LIR Royals.
However, the matchup between Desert Rabbits and Sunyani Technical University (STU) was postponed.
The STU recently competed in the GHAPSA (Ghana Polytechnic Sports Association) Games.
