Ghana Police and Ghana Navy have played their first games in the Tema Community Basketball League. Both teams made their debuts in the latest round of games that took place at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court.
Police beat Community 12 39-36 while Ghana Navy topped AK Rifles 38-27. Both teams are part of a host of teams who are playing in the league for the first time. Unlike most of such teams, Navy and Police were yet to play in previous rounds.
Navy got the win over C12 in Group A which also had defending champions Nungua Coldstore top Korle-Bu Kings 52-28 in the preceding game.
In Group B, Police’ win over Rifles was the sole game played in Group B following Don Bosco Giants walkover win over Adenta Leopards.
Both Navy and Police have made winning starts to life in the fast rising league after featuring in the preseason tournament. Navy placed third in the tournament while Police crashed out in the preliminary round.
