Ghana Navy Men’s Basketball Team has clinched its first win in the 2017 Basketball season following a 38-27 win over AK Rifles in the Tema Community Basketball League.
It is Navy’s first game in the league following its addition in the offseason.
The game which took place at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court had Navy rarely rattled as the team cruised past Rifles. The loss is Rifles second of the season.
For Navy, who also compete in the more acclaimed Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I, the win in the Tema League is a welcome relief from the losses suffered in the ABL.
The team is winless in five outings in Accra including a 61-62 loss to DC Dynamics in the last round.
The round of games had Ghana Police also make its debut in the league. Like Navy, the side got its campaign in the league off to a good start by beating Tema Community 12 39-36.
The game between Adenta Leopards and Don Bosco Giants was forfeited due to Leopards failure to show up for the game. Below are the full results:
