DC Dynamics have won its first game of the ongoing Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I courtesy a nail biting 62-61 win over Ghana Navy at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
A massive third quarter performance from David Maja was key to Dynamics overturning a 20 point deficit iafter the first quarter.
Entering the tie, Dynamics was winless in three games played in the division and matters looked bad for the side as it got completely blown out by Navy.
The men in Orange had no answers to Navy who dominated the opening quarter as Brew Smith delivered a pass inside the post for Center Eric Adoku to score. Navy Guard Joe Ayieattah was instrumental in the excellent quarter with a flurry of buckets from the three point line.
DC chipped away the deficit with returning trio Dennis Boateng, Emmanuel Mensah and Sena Asante registering points in the quarter.
With the first half deficit slashed to 14, David Maja ripped through Navy’s defense time and time again to willed his team to a 44-43 lead at the end of the third quarter.
DC did not fret as matters got out of hand on and off the court with injured Guard/Forward Nana Bissue Yankah getting into a verbal spat with a fan. Dynamics profited from the free throw line to get the lead and win profiting from a technical foul call on Navy Assistant Coach Nana Tuffour.
