Fire (all blue) lost to Navy in its last outing.

Braves in action against Fire Service last season.
Braves of Customs Female Basketball Team will be in action as games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division commences later today as the side takes on Ghana Navy.

The tie is the opening round of a two of a two game fixture in the Division set to take place at the Lebanon House. Home side Tudu Galaxy plays Fire Service in the last game of the round.

Braves matchup tips off at 17:00 GMT with Navy in the hunt to extend its winning run this season for the first time following its win over Fire Service.

Bottom ranked Fire Service couldn’t build on its 36-32 win over University of Ghana in the previous round as it lost to Navy.

The team faces a daunting task as it prepares to take on easily the most impressive side this season, Tudu Galaxy.

Galaxy lost a host of players heading into the season including frontcourt duo Harriet Hayford and Naa Shika Moffat to University of Ghana but has surprised many winning two of three games.

Despite playing games thus far in the season shorthanded, Galaxy has been tough to beat all season and brought the house down with a shock 31-29 win over Braves.
