Reigning Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship winners University of Ghana (UG) has walked out with another Most Valuable Player of the Tournament Award for a member of its roster.

Point Guard Kwame Opoku was named MVP in the just ended competition after guiding Ghana’s premier University to a second straight UPAC Championship title with a 41-23 win over Marshalls University College.

His feat marks the second year in succession, a member of UG’s team has been named MVP in the prestigious competition.

Swingman Muhaimain Guba was crowned the best player in 2016 as UG toppled record winners Accra Technical University 45-44 in the final game.

Guba was not part of this year’s triumphant team with six others from the 2016 team .

Opoku dazzled in UG’s unbeaten march to the 2017 title excelling particularly in the crunch Group A quarterfinal tie against Marshalls leading his side to a 40-31 win.
