The 2017 edition of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship knockout games are set to commence at the University of Ghana (UG).
This year’s edition is the fourth of Ghana’s most prestigious tertiary basketball competition featuring the top eight best teams in the West African nation.
Defending champions and host UG tips off the round of games with a tough matchup against Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). KNUST lost the semifinal game to UG in last year’s competition before placing third.
Reigning PUSAG Champions Marshalls University College takes on University of Cape-Coast (UCC) in another close contest in Group A.
Both games will be played simultaneously prior to Group B games involving All Nations University College, Accra Technical University, University of Development Studies (UDS-Tamale) and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).
This year’s UPAC is sponsored by EcoBank, GOIL Ghana and Decathlon Sports.
