Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has lost its second game of the quarterfinals of the ongoing Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship at the University of Ghana (UG) Central Court.
University of Cape-Coast (UCC) beat the Kumasi side 43-41.
KNUST lost the opening game of the round 23-38 to defending champions UG before falling just short shy of leveling the score to send the game into overtime.
UCC lost 51-52 to Marshalls University College in its opening game meaning the Cape-Coast side needed a win to have any hopes of qualifying to the semifinals.
KNUST’s foul troubles hurt the side down the stretch as UCC profited from free throws to secure the win.
The result gives UCC a shot at making the final four but the side needs a win over UG in the final game to punch its ticket to the next stage.
