Marshalls University College has successfully defended its Private Universities Sports Associations Games (PUSAG) Basketball competition title by beating All Nations University College 35-10 in the final game earlier today at the Cape-Coast Sports Stadium.
The reigning champions were favorites heading into the tie against an All Nations that is having a very impressive 2017.
Aside placing second in the PUSAG, the young side has qualified to compete in the quarterfinals of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship which takes place at the University of Ghana (UG) on April 7.
Marshalls dominated the game leading 20-4 at a point over the Koforidua-based tertiary institution before rounding the landslide win.
Marshalls topped Radford to win the 2016 edition and its latest win is testament to the young institution’s rapid rise to the top.
The James Okine-led side gets back in action in Ghana’s capital Accra, to compete in the UPAC Championship.
Marshalls has been placed in a tough group that has reigning champions and host UG, KNUST and University of Cape-Coast.
