Reports reaching basketballghana.com indicate Central University’s participation in the ongoing Private Universities Sports Associations Games (PUSAG) was nearly over before the basketball competition began.
Central’s Male Basketball team had difficulties with accommodation and other related matters since the tertiary institution’s management did not sort it out before the entourage left Accra for Ghana’s Central Region capital, Cape-Coast.
The team threatened to leave if their wishes were not granted. However, the issues were resolved and Central will stay and compete in the event which is taking place at the Cape-Coast Sports Stadium.
Central won its first game against Garden City University College 31-4 before losing 9-16 to Marshalls University College as Group A action began on Tuesday April 4.
The side takes on Wisconsin International University College.
Fellow Group A member Marshalls is yet to be beaten after winning two straight games in the competition including a 31-11 Garden City University; Marshalls are the defending champions.
