A trio of teams from Ashaiman will be in action later today at the Tema Community Basketball Court as the second week of the 2017 Tema Community Basketball League takes center stage.
However, teams from the Ashaiman Municipality dominate the fixture roster for the day.
2016 silver medalist Ashaiman Lions take on Community 5 in the first game at 15:30 GMT right before defending champions Nungua Coldstore plays Teshie Rangers in the final game of Group A.
In Group B however, there is an all Ashaiman encounter as John Bosco plays Ashaiman Warriors after AK Rifles slug it out with Community 4 in the preceding game.
Both Bosco and Warriors are competing in the Tema League for the first time but Bosco has competed in off season events at the venue after participating in the Under 19 Tournament at last year’s All-Star Game and the preseason competition.
However Bosco lost all three games to exit the curtain raiser event at the preliminary round. Ashaiman has been a hotbed of talent in recent years and reigning High School Player of the Year Dennis Dugbennu plays for Ashaiman Lions.
