Lions play Tema Community 5 in the opening game which is set to start at 15:30 GMT before Coldstore takes on Teshie Rangers in the following game to round up affairs in Group A.
Lions lost twice in the Finals series to Coldstore to place second last year after losing to the same side in the postseason warm up tournament dubbed, “Basketball Battle”.
Community 5 lost 24-25 to Community12 in the previous round despite leading for much of the game and Nungua’s opponent Rangers, beat Korle-Bu Kings last week.
In Group B, AK Rifles plays Community 4 in the first matchup of the round before an all Ashaiman showdown takes place in the final game of the day between Don Bosco Giants and Ashaiman Warriors.
Both teams are in the Ashaiman municipality and are part of the new batch of teams making their debuts in the fast rising league.
