]Ghana Navy is on a four game losing streak following a 38-50 loss to Tudu Magic at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in the latest round of games played in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I this season.
The side has lost all four games played in the 2017 season which includes 50-53 and 65 -72 losses to Adenta Leopards and Tema Youth.
Whereas poor starts have contributed to Navy’s woeful performance in previous games, the side’s loss to Magic was the complete opposite as Tudu’s lead was within reach before falling behind in the final quarter.
Magic won the first quarter courtesy a 19-15 lead but stretched it to eight (33-24) and 12 (50-38) in the final quarter. In a very physical and feisty game, Magic’s versatile roster proved key in deciding the game.
After starting strong with a small ball lineup that had three players under six feet including Eric Quaye and Elvis Pobi-Siaw, Magic introduced a bigger lineup led by Emmanuel Gyampong and Tsatsu Sakpaku; Sakpaku delivered the game’s top defensive play with a chase down block on Navy’s Ernest Ofori.
Navy has enough time to steady its ship as the side plays DC Dynamics next on April 21.
