Accra Technical University (ATU) Shooting Guard Gabriel Numarworse has described his side’s qualification to the quarterfinals of the UPAC Basketball Championship as “easy” and a “warm up game”.
The Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) record winners made it out of Zone E in the preliminary stage by winning all games against Central University, Pentecost and Wisconsin International University Colleges respectively.
ATU beat Wisconsin 39-21 before doing away with Central (42-25) and Pentecost (51-25) with Numarworse starring for the two time champions.
In an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com, he said, “It was an easy one, it was just like a warm up game for the quarterfinals and the finals but it wasn’t easy for our opponents”.
“I think this year’s competition was harder than last year but you know ATU we are always the best” he added.
ATU and seven other qualified teams will be drawn into groups for the quarterfinals on Sunday April 2 during trendy basketball television show “Courtside” on Kwese Free Sports between 14:00 and 16:00 GMT.
